WinLaseTM is a software package for designing laser cavities and for analyzing the propagation of gaussian beams in complex optical systems. The basic concept of WinLase is to give the user an easy to use, yet powerful tool which will enable him to find solutions for his problems in gaussian beam optics ... and to find them fast! WinLase uses matrix algorithms for its calculations. Therefore, nearly any optical element can be simulated by the software, even user defined elements.
WinLase was developed in C++ code for MS Windows based computer systems, thereby combining easy operation with high speed performance. Most tasks can be performed by simple point & click operations. Major features can be activated from a toolbar and all important parameters are always visible on the WinLase desktop. Laser cavities and single-pass systems can be analyzed simultaneously, thus enabling the design of a laser and its pump optics in one project. Analysis results can be displayed in a variety of plots, complete with quantitative data and units.
